About OKB
OKB is the native utility token of OKX, one of the largest centralized cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, and of the X Layer ecosystem. Originally launched in 2018, OKB is used to give long-term OKX users tangible benefits across trading, savings, and launchpad products. Holders receive trading-fee discounts that scale with their average OKB balance, voting rights on new listings via Jumpstart, and priority access to selected token launches.
OKB is issued on Ethereum (ERC-20) and on X Layer, OKX's zk-EVM Layer 2 built on the Polygon CDK stack, where it serves as the gas asset. OKX commits to using a portion of exchange revenue to buy back and burn OKB on a regular schedule, gradually reducing the circulating supply. OKB's total supply is capped, with a transparent burn history published by the exchange.
Beyond the OKX exchange itself, OKB anchors the X Layer ecosystem of DEXs, NFT marketplaces, and consumer dApps, where it is used to pay for transactions and participate in network programmes. The token is also supported by major self-custody wallets and is integrated into OKX's Web3 Wallet, DEX aggregator, and Jumpstart platform.
