About Aster
Aster (ASTER) is the native token of the Aster decentralized derivatives exchange, a cross-chain trading platform that offers spot, perpetual futures, and other derivatives products on top of an EVM-compatible architecture. Aster grew out of an earlier perp-DEX project and has expanded into a multi-chain venue that targets traders looking for centralized-exchange-style execution with on-chain settlement and self-custody. ASTER is used for trading-fee discounts, staking, and governance.
Aster combines a hybrid order-book/AMM design with on-chain settlement, supporting major perpetual markets with leverage, cross-margin accounts, and risk-management tooling. The protocol distributes a portion of trading fees to stakers and to the protocol treasury, and uses a points and incentives programme to bootstrap liquidity. ASTER's tokenomics include allocations for the team, investors, and a sizeable share for community and trader incentives.
Aster operates across multiple chains and integrates with stablecoin issuers, oracles, and bridge providers to support deep cross-chain liquidity. ASTER is supported by major centralized exchanges and self-custody wallets and sits within the broader category of decentralized derivatives venues such as dYdX, GMX, and Hyperliquid that compete to bring centralized-exchange-grade trading on-chain.
